How do I deal with tank controls in Resident Evil on PS1?
#1
I just tried to replay the original Resident Evil on my PS1 and I can't believe how much I'm struggling with the tank controls. I never remembered them being this awkward when I was a kid, but now it feels like I'm fighting the game just to walk down a hallway. Did anyone else have this experience going back to it?

Yeah, I had the same shake when I went back. Those tank controls felt fine as a kid, but replaying it now it’s like you’re wading through glue just to turn a corner.

I started taking it slow, barely tapping the stick, and I treated every hallway like a puzzle. It helped a little to pause at doors and plan two moves ahead.

Sometimes I wonder if the camera angles are the real villain. The tight corridors plus the angle makes you feel off-balance even when you’re not inputting much.

Maybe it’s not the button layout at all and I’m just chasing a memory. Is it really the controls or am I chasing nostalgia?
