How do I introduce myself and meet people in a new city?
#1
I just moved to a new city for work and I'm finding it really hard to meet people outside of the office. I joined this forum hoping to connect with some folks locally, but honestly, I'm not sure where to even begin with an introduction.

Moving to a new city is rough I felt that too. I started with one small step a week like meeting a coworker for coffee or saying hello at a local event. It slowly added up and I started to recognize a few friendly faces.

I tried a few things and some did not go well. I joined a climbing gym and a book club and kept running into the same faces who waved back. It took a while but I felt more part of the scene.

When I introduced myself on the forum I kept it short and honest. I moved here for work and I like bikes and coffee if anyone wants to grab a quick chat this week.

Maybe the real problem is not the forum but the gaps in local events and the timing I kept thinking I should plan a big thing but then I realized a tiny hello at the farmers market can lead to a real convo later I guess.
