How do i make waking up early at 5:30 feel easy and stick?

I’ve been trying to get up at 5:30 AM consistently, but I keep hitting the snooze button and my whole morning feels rushed. I’m curious if anyone else has managed to make that early start stick and what the first hour actually looks like for you.

I used to hit snooze every morning. Then I moved the alarm to the other side of the room and attached a tiny routine to it: water, open blinds, 10 minutes of mobility, and a quick 5 minute coffee. It took a couple of weeks, but mornings no longer start with sprinting to catch up.

Some days I still scramble. When it sticks, the first hour is calm but practical: drink, sunlight, a short walk, and jotting down the top 3 tasks. If I skip the walk, I feel off all day.

I tried a no snooze rule and kept a small bottle of water by the bed. The first hour stays boring but consistent: water, light, stretch, and a glance at the schedule. Then the next thought wanders, did I even sleep well last night, and I circle back to the plan.

Has anyone else found that the real shift comes from how the night was set up, not the alarm itself?
