I’m trying to plan my first trip to San Diego Comic-Con and I’m completely overwhelmed by the badge registration process. I got through the waiting room last year but then the system kicked me out when I was trying to pay, and I’ve heard it’s even more competitive now.

I got stuck in the waiting room last year and the payment step froze for a solid 20 minutes. I tried again twice, gave up, and came back later muttering under my breath. When it finally processed I felt like I won a mini lottery.

Friends say it feels more competitive this year but it really just seems to buckle under the load. I kept retrying with a fresh browser window and finally moved after starting early in the morning.

Did this happen to you and were you able to land a slot?

I spent time thinking about the badge and the trip as a whole. I started looking at alternate days and tried to go for a smaller panel plan to reduce stress, then realized the problem was more about timing and patience than a clever trick.
