I just moved to a new city and joined this forum hoping to meet some people, but I'm honestly a bit lost on how to actually get started. Everyone seems to already have their own groups, and I'm not sure where to jump in without feeling like I'm intruding.

I know how that feels I moved to a new city and everyone already has their crews I wandered around the first weeks trying to join in and it rarely clicked

I tried a casual hangout at a local cafe I introduced myself to one person who looked open and we ended up planning a weekend walk with a couple others

The odd thing is sometimes it feels like the real problem is not the groups but feeling like you should already blend in I kept waiting for a big welcome and it never came

I set up a simple post inviting folks to a no agenda Saturday thing and only one reply came two days later and then nothing happened so we dropped it

I was riding my bike along the river thinking about work stuff and a neighbor waved and asked what I was doing next weekend that small moment did more for a sense of place than any post did

Do you think the real issue is the forum or is starting itself the hurdle and maybe you just need one tiny anchor to go on?
