How do we counter power weapon camping in ranked 2v2?

I’ve been playing a lot of ranked 2v2 lately, and my partner and I keep getting completely shut down by teams that just camp the power weapon spawns. We try to push objectives, but without map control from those spots, we just get picked off. Is this just how the meta is now, or are we missing something obvious in how to counter it?

Yeah that power weapon spawn camping is brutal. We’ll start moving in and get picked off while we’re still lining up our approach. We’ve tried hugging our own wall and waiting for the call, but the moment we step out they have angles and it folds fast.

I’ve tried a two-man pinch on the side when they setup, but it just flips to us trading and losing map control elsewhere.

Maybe it isn’t a meta thing as much as a misread. We chase the feeling of control and end up giving away more space than we take. Sometimes I think we should just slow down and see if something else opens.

Have you tried waiting for respawns and grouping up before a push, or is that too passive for your team?

Last night we tested contesting a different objective first. Kept them from getting a clean rush for about a minute, but after the next fight we were behind on respawns and couldn't convert.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s really about the camping or if our comms crumble when shots start flying. We chat more about who called what and end up stepping on each other.
