How does adenomyosis pain feel day to day in the lower abdomen?
#1
I’ve been noticing a persistent, dull ache in my lower abdomen for the past few weeks, and it seems to get sharper right before my period starts. My doctor mentioned it could be related to adenomyosis, but I’m still trying to understand what that actually feels like day-to-day for other people.

I’ve been there too. There’s a dull ache in the lower belly that sits there most days and then sharpens a bit right before my period. It’s not a full on crash, more like a heavy pressure that crowds in. I kept a rough diary for a few months and the pattern lined up with the cycles. Heat pads help, and NSAIDs take the edge off, but it doesn’t disappear. My doctor mentioned adenomyosis as a possibility, which sounded scary at first but I guess it just means this area is a little more sensitive.

Sometimes the ache is there in the middle of the day too, not just around bleed time. It’s like period cramps but deeper, and some days it feels more like pressure than real pain, then it comes and goes. I’ve tried cutting caffeine, adding a light stretch routine, and a warm bath, but on tough days I still just ride it out and plan around it.

I track it on a calendar and rate the pain 0 to 10. Before my period it jumps to a 5 or 6 for a few hours, then eases. I’ve done gentle pelvic floor stretches and used a heat wrap at work, and sometimes it helps enough to keep going. It’s hard to tell what’s the cause and what’s just hormones acting up.

Sometimes I wonder if this is the real problem or if I’m just noticing digestion or stress more. Has anyone noticed whether the pain lines up with ovulation or only right before the period?
