How does the alien time manipulation device work in the new sci-fi movie?
#1
I just watched the new sci-fi movie everyone's talking about, and I'm still trying to figure out the rules for the alien's time manipulation device. My friend says it only works on organic matter, but I swear there was that scene with the spaceship hull. Can anyone else who's seen it help me sort this out?

I watched it last night and I argued with a friend about that hull moment. It did look like the disturbance touched the hull and made the metal tremble, which would mean it can act on nonliving stuff too, not just organic. But the scene is fast and flashy, so I might be misreading.

I paused and rewound the activation scene. The hull flared, the alarms blared, and the crew reacted like they expected something to spread. Then later someone mentions living beings, so I walked away thinking there are modes or limits, but I can’t pin it down.

Could it be that the real rule is something else entirely, like it only works under a certain condition or with a specific kind of target?

Honestly I’m not sure. It feels organic-only until that hull moment, and now I’m uncertain what to trust. Maybe I misread the dialogue entirely.
