How should i read the space saga trailer's shift to a cosmic war?

I just watched the new trailer for the third film in that space saga, and I’m honestly a bit confused. The tone seems completely different from the first two, shifting from a grounded heist story to something that looks like a full-blown cosmic war. I’m not sure if this is a natural progression for the story or if they’re just chasing a bigger franchise feel.

I rewatched the first two films last weekend to see if my memory is playing tricks. tone wise the heist grit is gone in the trailer replaced by sweeping space opera vibes big battles and chest thumping music. I can see it as natural growth but it also feels like they are signaling a different kind of story on a broader canvas. I am not convinced it is a pure upgrade it could be a shift they will lean into later.

Maybe they’re chasing a franchise wide feel not a narrative pivot. The trailer leans into spectacle the dialogue feels punchier and the setting shifts from grounded locations to cosmic panoramas. It could be marketing or simply that the stakes get bigger as budgets grow. Either way I am curious how the smaller character driven moments will survive that.

I will admit I am not sure what is real and what is trailer magic. I started listing clues like ship models and villain vibes and before I knew it I was drifting into guesswork. Could the problem be that we are equating scope with quality rather than if the characters still matter?

One thing I did was pause the trailer and watch the end credits to catch who is back. Then I checked the press notes and felt more questions than answers. It is messy but I do not mind being messy if the film brings it back to people.
