That didn’t lead to a single interview. I also paid for a half-hour consultation with a local career coach who told me to “lead with a strong summary,” but when I did that, it still felt like I was apologizing for my age and background. Maybe I’m overthinking the summary line, or maybe I need a totally different strategy like a functional format instead of chronological. I’m not sure if that’s outdated advice.
