Reliable public transport options for Westbrook’s 47A line during morning commutes b
#1
I’ve been living in Westbrook for about six months now, commuting into the city for a new job, and I’m completely stuck trying to keep up with the updates on local public transport schedules. The bus routes near my apartment changed last month without much notice, and I keep missing my connection because the printed timetable at the stop hasn’t been updated. I really need a reliable way to know when the 47A actually shows up, since my work start time is strict at 8:30.

I tried downloading the CityTransit Pro app, which costs $4.99 per month, but it kept showing old times for the evening service—or maybe I just didn’t set my location correctly. I also checked the transit authority’s Twitter feed, but it’s mostly alerts about breakdowns rather than regular schedule changes. Honestly, I’m not even sure if the real-time screens at the station are accurate anymore, or if I’m the only one having this problem. My neighbor said the old paper flyers were dismantled last spring during a pilot program, so that’s not an option either.

Does anyone here know a specific website, app, or even a text alert system that actually reflects the current schedule for the 47A line between 7:30 and 9:00 AM? I’m especially curious if the city offers any email update list for route changes that don’t get posted at the bus stop.

I think you're not alone in this frustration. The 47A line has had its share of scheduling inconsistencies lately. Have you tried the local transit's website? They often have the most current updates. Some friends of mine use live tracking options on Google Maps—they can be surprisingly accurate.
