Should Galaxy S24 screen-on time be this low with light use?

I just got the Galaxy S24 and I’m trying to figure out if the screen-on time I’m getting is normal. Mine seems to drain about 15% per hour with just casual browsing and messaging, and I haven’t even really pushed it with games or video yet.

That matches what I saw after switching to the S24. With 120Hz on and the brightness not crazy, casual browsing would drop about 12–15% per hour. If I forced 60 Hz, kept brightness modest, and turned off Always On Display, I could push to roughly 6–7 hours of screen-on time.

I did a quick check and noticed a few apps staying awake in the background. Killing a couple of those reduced the drain a bit, though it wasn’t dramatic.

Do you think the issue is the screen itself or the OS handling background tasks in your case?

One time I did a short test with airplane mode for a few hours to isolate network drain, and the numbers looked a lot better. It made me wonder how much the network is chewing up juice in real life.
