Should i buy the new expansion or wait if the endgame grind feels like a chore?

I'm trying to decide if I should pick up the new expansion, but I'm worried the endgame loop will just feel like a chore again. The last major update added a ton of mandatory daily grinds that burned me out, and I'm not sure if this one has learned from that.
