Should I buy the PS5 version or PS4 for better haptics and faster load times?

I just got a PS5 and I'm trying to decide which version of a game to buy, but I'm hitting a wall. The PS4 version is half the price and runs fine, but I’m worried I’ll be missing out on the proper haptic feedback and faster load times if I don’t get the native PS5 one. Is that upgrade really worth paying double for the same game?

Yeah I did the same math, and in practice the PS5 version feels a little nicer to move through. The load times are noticeably faster and the controller feedback can add a touch of immersion in places, but it isn’t a magical rewrite of the game. If money is tight, the PS4 version is perfectly fine for getting through the story.

I actually timed it once in a shooter I played last month. Menu to play felt like 12–14 seconds on PS4 and about 2–3 seconds on PS5. The visuals were close, but the snappier loads and smoother moment-to-moment feel tipped things for me in long sessions. Still, not every game uses the new features the same way.

Do you care about the haptics and fast loads enough to drop double the price, or is the budget more important right now?

I bought the PS4 version on sale and later chased the extra polish on PS5, and I can see why some people regret missing the quick resume and cleaner menus. But I know folks who never notice the difference in their gameplay loop. It seems very game-by-game and mood-by-mood.
