Should I choose Steam or Epic Games Store for workshop vs free games?
#1
I’ve been trying to decide whether to buy a game on Steam or the Epic Games Store, since the price is the same but the features are so different. I keep going back and forth because I really value Steam’s workshop and controller support, but Epic’s free weekly games have built up my library there.

I’ve stuck with Steam mostly because the workshop lets me grab user maps and mods that actually change how I play. The controller support feels more solid too, so a lot of games just work without extra fiddling.

Epic freebies are nice, I’ve snagged a few games I wouldn’t have bought, but most of them sit in the library untouched for months.

I think if your priorities are workshop mods and solid controller support, Steam probably edges it, but I’m not totally sure how far the Epic freebies will push you to switch. It’s messy.

Sometimes I wonder if the real problem isn’t the storefronts at all but how I actually spend my evenings. Do you think the core issue is playtime or features?
