Should i do a photo op at the sci-fi convention or just go for autographs?

I'm trying to decide if I should get a photo op with the main cast at the big sci-fi convention next month, but the price is honestly pretty steep. I'm just wondering if others have found that single moment to be worth it compared to just getting an autograph or enjoying the panel discussions.

I did a photo op with one of the main cast members last year. the price was steep, but that moment when they smiled and you walk away with a real picture feels different from an autograph. the photo lives on the wall and in your phone and it brings back the con vibe every time you glance at it.

I went for autographs only and the notes stay in a folder. it's nice to own something tangible, but the moment is quick and the line is long. I felt more at ease in the autograph line than in a photo op, and you can catch more people that way too.

I keep staring at the price and wondering if that single image justifies it. panels are cheaper and you get the vibe in the room, plus you can share the moment with friends as stories. is the memory from the photo op the real value here, or am I overthinking it?

I tried a photo op once, got a shot I thought would be perfect and left with a hollow feeling. It was shiny and the line was long, and then I realized the moment was mostly in the memory of the crowd and the chat in the hallway, not the frame. Still, the frame sits on the desk and reminds me we were there.
