Should I recruit Magus or fight him in Chrono Trigger?

I'm planning my convention schedule for next year and trying to find reliable sources for anime convention updates and comic con news. There's so much misinformation out there about convention schedules and entertainment event announcements.

Where do you get your information about upcoming fan conventions? I'm particularly interested in expo floor news and convention guest announcements. Also, any recommendations for event recaps and reviews to help decide which events are worth attending?

For reliable anime convention updates, I follow the official social media accounts of the conventions themselves. They usually post the most accurate comic con news and convention schedules.

I also use dedicated convention tracking websites that aggregate entertainment events news from multiple sources. These are great for getting a comprehensive view of upcoming fan conventions and entertainment industry events.

I find that cosplay communities are excellent sources for convention cosplay news and expo floor news. People share real-time updates about entertainment expo updates and convention highlights.

For event recaps and reviews, I follow several bloggers who specialize in covering pop culture conventions. Their exclusive event coverage often includes details that mainstream entertainment events news outlets miss.

As someone in the industry, I can tell you that press releases are still the most reliable source for entertainment event announcements. Major entertainment expos send these out well in advance of public announcements.

For gaming convention news specifically, I recommend following industry journalists who attend these events regularly. Their convention guest announcements and entertainment event trends analysis is usually spot on.

For celebrity panels and Q&A information, I follow talent agencies and public relations firms. They often announce celebrity event appearances before they hit general entertainment events news.

Movie premiere events are usually covered by entertainment journalists who specialize in red carpet event news. Their exclusive event coverage includes details about celebrity event appearances that you won't find elsewhere.

I finally got my hands on a copy of Chrono Trigger for the SNES, but I’m stuck on a weird choice. I’m at the part where you can recruit Magus, and I just can’t decide if I should let him join or fight him. On one hand, it feels wrong after what he did, but I’ve heard his magic is incredibly powerful and changes some later story bits. What did you all do on your first playthrough?

On my first run I actually let the mage join. It felt strange to align with him after all the chaos, but his magic was a game changer in those early dungeon bosses.

I went the other route and fought him. The fight was tense and I came away thinking I was dodging a big power spike, but winning left me unsure about the story can of worms.

I sided with him on my second playthrough, mostly because I wanted to see what his presence would unlock later; the quiet, ominous moments after recruit were kind of cool.

Do you ever feel the real problem here is the choice itself or the idea that the game measures progress by who you recruit?

One friend skipped recruiting anyone until much later and swore the party felt lighter; they swapped in a healer instead of a dark mage and never looked back.

I remember staring at the skill list and thinking the spells would matter, but the bigger surprise was how differently the scenes played out depending on who you had in the party.
