Should I rely on a Level 1 charger for my 50-mile daily EV commute?

I’m trying to figure out if I can get by with just the Level 1 charger that came with my EV, but I’m starting to doubt it. My daily commute is about 50 miles round-trip, and plugging into the standard outlet overnight barely gets me back to 80% before I have to leave again.

I tried sticking with just the Level 1 plug for a while. For a 50 mile day it often left me starting the next leg short on buffer. It’s slow enough that the overnight recharge doesn’t quite catch you up if you’re starting from mid low SOC.

After a while I installed a Level 2 charger at home. Overnight I’d wake up well past 80%, and the 50 mile days became routine rather than nail-biting.

I also messed with climate settings and preconditioning, thinking that was wasting energy, and I did notice a small improvement, but it wasn’t the fix.

Do you know how far your car actually goes on a full Level 1 cycle with your current pack?
