Should i see an ent for globus sensation in my throat?
#1
I’ve had this constant feeling of something stuck in my throat for about three weeks now, but my doctor didn’t see any redness or swelling during a quick look. It’s not painful, just this persistent globus sensation that makes me want to clear my throat all the time. I’m wondering if I should push for a referral to an ENT specialist or if this is something that just eventually goes away on its own.

I had something similar for a few weeks once. No redness or obvious harm in the throat, but I kept feeling like I needed to clear my throat. A humidifier at night and staying hydrated helped a bit, and cutting down on dry air made a small difference, but it didn’t completely go away on its own.

Would it help to push for an ENT referral? Some people end up checking for reflux, allergies, or throat nodules that a quick look might miss.

I tried not thinking about it too much and carried on, but it didn’t go away on its own after a while. It did loosen up when I managed stress a bit and paid attention to my breathing and swallowing, but the sensation came back when I slipped on meals late at night.

Sometimes I wonder if I’m chasing the real problem or just overreacting to a minor throat sensation. It’s hard to tell if it’s from reflux, dehydration, anxiety, or something else, and I don’t feel confident naming one. But I kept track of when it happened and what changed, just in case.
