Should I splurge on a celebrity photo op at the con, or skip it?

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth getting a professional photo op with a celebrity guest at the upcoming con. The price is pretty steep, and I’m worried the rushed, ten-second interaction might just feel awkward and not like a real memory.

I did one last year with a celebrity guest. Ten seconds felt like a sprint, and the whole thing was oddly mechanical. The photo looks fine, but the memory is mostly the rush of the line, the flash, and the clock ticking.

I skipped it this year. The price is steep, and I hate the idea of paying for a quick handshake. I'd rather put that money toward a nicer print later or a small meet-and-greet with a smaller guest.

I booked one, then stood there with my heart pounding and the button kept flashing. The moment felt shorter than my breath. When I walked away I wasn't sure what I actually gained.

Do you actually want a moment to talk or is having a photo enough? I asked myself that and it changed how I thought about value.
