Should I switch from light grey to greige to warm up a north-facing living room?

I’ve just started painting my living room walls a light grey, and I’m already worried the color looks too cold and sterile with my north-facing windows. I picked it hoping for a calm, modern feel, but now I’m second-guessing whether I should have gone with something warmer like a greige to add a bit of coziness.

I’ve been there. North facing light can push a cool tone really hard. I picked a light grey for a living room and it felt chilly until I leaned into warmer textures—wood furniture, a warm rug, and lamps with a soft amber glow. The calm vibe showed up once the room had some color warmth at eye level.

Honestly I tried swatching a few options on the wall near natural light, and one greige actually looked cozier in the evening. It helped to pair it with linen curtains and a tan sofa, plus a couple of warmer bulbs. I didn’t want to abandon the calm, just soften it.

Are you sure the problem is the color and not the lighting or the furniture? Sometimes a north light makes everything feel cooler no matter what paint you pick, and blinds or a lamp warm up can be a bigger change than a shade.

One tiny thing I did was swap the bulbs to 2700K and kept a soft satin finish on walls. It made the grey feel a touch less clinical, though I still wasn’t sure I’d call it cozy.
