Should I switch to a strength program or tweak my push-pull-legs routine?

I've tried so many daily productivity apps over the years but always seem to fall off after a few weeks. I'm looking for something that actually becomes part of my daily routine rather than just another app I forget about. What daily productivity apps have you found yourself actually sticking with long term? I'm especially interested in ones that help with both work and personal tasks.

I've been testing daily productivity apps for years and the ones I actually stick with are Todoist for task management and Notion for everything else. Todoist is simple enough that I actually use it every day, and Notion has replaced like five different apps for me. The key for me was finding apps that work across all my devices seamlessly.

As a student, I've found that Google Calendar combined with Google Keep works really well for me. They're not fancy but they're integrated with everything else I use for school. I tried more specialized daily productivity apps but they always felt like extra work to maintain. The built-in Google tools just work without thinking about them.

For remote team management, I swear by ClickUp. It's more than just a daily productivity app - it handles tasks, docs, goals, and even time tracking. What made it stick for me was the customization options. I could set it up exactly how my brain works instead of forcing myself into someone else's system.

I use Trello for visual task management and it's the only app I've consistently used for over three years. The board system just makes sense for creative projects. I combine it with Google Calendar for time blocking. The simplicity is what keeps me coming back - no complicated features to learn or maintain.

After testing dozens of daily productivity apps, I've settled on a combination of Microsoft To Do for simple task lists and OneNote for notes. They integrate perfectly with the Office 365 ecosystem I use for work. The key insight for me was that integration with my existing tools was more important than fancy features.

I've been using TickTick for about a year now and it's the first daily productivity app I haven't abandoned. The combination of tasks, habits, and a simple calendar view works perfectly for me. The mobile app is particularly good, which is important since I'm often away from my desk.

I’ve been doing a basic push-pull-legs split for about a year, but my progress on compound lifts like bench press has really stalled. I’m wondering if switching to a dedicated strength program with more focus on progressive overload would be better for breaking through this plateau, or if I should just tweak my current routine.

I tried a dedicated strength block for about 8 weeks, heavy singles and doubles, and it finally nudged the bench a bit. Not a miracle, but progress showed up as a cleaner top-end rep.

For me, switching programs helped only after I got basics sorted—sleep went from 6 to 7.5 hours, protein around a gram per pound, and I slowed the tempo on some accessories.

I kept the push pull legs but added a second bench day with heavier work, cut back on leg isolation, and just watched the main press numbers creep up.

I’m not sure the real problem is the program. Maybe technique, setup, or mental block. It’s hard to tell from my own gym bench.

One time I drifted away from tracking actual reps and focused on how I felt lifting, and progress came in a weird way—felt stronger during pulls first.

Paused bench work for a week to reset and then came back; it helped a bit but not a ton.

If you have a log, check what actually changed week to week. Sometimes it’s not strength but consistency or recovery you’re missing.
