Should I switch to the Epic Games Store as my main launcher or stay on Steam?

I’m trying to decide if I should finally switch to using the Epic Games Store as my main PC launcher, but I keep running into the same issue. My friends are all on Steam, and even though Epic has those free weekly games, I feel like I’m missing out on community features and the seamless multiplayer sessions I’m used to.

I tried making Epic the main launcher a while back because of the free weekly games, but I still end up using Steam for the big multiplayer nights with friends; the community features feel like they live in a separate app, and invites don't always cross over cleanly.

Friends are on Steam, so I keep that as my default for party invites and quick launches; the store's social bits don't do enough to pull me away, even with the freebies.

I did switch to the Epic Games Store and figured the freebies were neat, but the social side felt thinner; I keep seeing friends offline or not syncing lists, and I wonder if the real win is just fewer launches and fewer headaches rather than a better social vibe.

Maybe the problem isn't the launcher at all—it's that everyone else is on Steam and the best you can do is coordinate big sessions or pick a shared game; I keep wobbling between both, unsure what would truly fix the issue.
