Should I trust a home blood pressure monitor over pharmacy readings?
#1
I’ve been trying to get my blood pressure under control with diet and walking, but my last two readings at the pharmacy were still higher than my doctor wants. I’m just not sure if those public monitors are accurate enough to really track my progress, or if I should invest in a home monitor to check it more consistently in my own environment.

The public monitors at the pharmacy always felt unreliable to me. Readings would swing by double digits from visit to visit, even when I was doing the same thing. I switched to a home monitor with a proper upper arm cuff and started taking readings twice a day to compare.

I started noticing my morning numbers were sometimes lower and the evening ones higher, which made me wonder if the public readings were really showing my true pattern or just a moment.

I did buy a home monitor, then stalled after a couple weeks because I wasn’t sure how to log them or what counted as a good trend.

Have you checked that your home monitor is validated for accuracy?
