Should I trust the city’s real-time bus tracking app or the printed schedule?

I’ve been trying to figure out if my city’s new real-time bus tracking app is actually reliable or if I should just stick to the printed schedule. Twice this week it showed my bus arriving in 2 minutes, but then it just vanished from the map and I ended up waiting fifteen.

That happened to me last week. The app blinked 2 minutes and then the pin disappeared and I stood there for 15 minutes. The printed schedule matched the bus after the long wait so I started doubting the live ETA entirely.

I tried loading it again closed and reopened and I even checked a second device. The map vanished again right before the stop and I rode on the timetable feeling blind. It makes me wonder if the data feed is flaky or if some routes do not update properly in real time.

On a different day I checked at work and noticed the same thing. Two minutes on the screen then nothing. It felt like the system is sometimes quick to say soon and slow to deliver the bus. I guess I will still plan with the printed schedule when I am tight on time.

Has this happened to anyone else or is it just my line?
