Should i upgrade the ram 3500 suspension for trailer stability?

I’m trying to decide if I should upgrade the suspension on my 2019 Ram 3500 dually, or just leave it stock. I pull a 40-foot gooseneck trailer loaded with equipment almost daily, and while the factory setup handles it, the truck feels a bit floaty and wallows on uneven back roads. I’m wondering if a set of aftermarket helper springs or a full replacement system would make a noticeable difference in stability without ruining the empty ride.

I added a set of rear airbags to my Ram 3500 and it helped take the wallow out of the suspension when loaded. Empty ride got a touch stiffer but I could adjust the feel by changing pressure. For daily towing it is a clear win, but you will notice the difference when it is empty.

I went with a full replacement system on a similar heavy rig and the stability did improve at speed, especially in gusty winds, but the ride in town got harsher and the bounce on rough pavement increased. It felt like you trade comfort for control.

Could the culprit be tires or tire pressure rather than the big suspension tweak? I found that marginal underinflation or mismatched tire profiles made the rear wander more than I expected, and fixing that changed things more than a spring kit did.

I am still unsure myself. The numbers look good on the spec sheet but on the road the difference can be tiny and you do not always know what you are chasing until you try it. I hesitated and left it stock while I worked on load management another way.
