Should i upgrade to the vip pass for the summer con?

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth upgrading to a VIP pass for the big summer con this year. The main draw for me is the promise of shorter lines for the major panels, but I’m not sure if that alone justifies the huge price jump over a regular weekend badge.

I tried a premium pass last year hoping for lightning fast lines. It did cut down a bit but the big panels still drew crowds and you still had to sprint to get decent seats. I mainly used it for one autograph queue and a couple of smaller talks and not the marquee stuff. It felt more like peace of mind than a real time saver.

I bought the VIP option once and did notice a shorter line for the main autograph area plus a few perks that helped me skip a few hours of waiting. For panels though the bottleneck was always the entry windows and seat grabs not just the line length. The price tag still rubbed me the wrong way for what I actually used.

Maybe the real issue isnt lines at all If the schedule is a mess you end up choosing between three panels you want and you cant see all of them anyway So the upgrade might feel less valuable once you map out your day and realize most of your time is spent planning and moving Could that be the real issue?

I would crunch it like this If you expect to save a couple of hours spread over the con days and your time is worth the price difference it might pencil out If not I would skip it and focus on planning routes meals and staying hydrated Also the little wins from a quieter hall can be nice but they arent guaranteed.
