Should I worry about a retroverted uterus when planning pregnancy?
#1
I’ve been told I have a retroverted uterus after my last pelvic exam. I’m not having any pain, but I’m a bit confused because my mom mentioned she had the same thing and had some issues with her pregnancies decades ago. I’m wondering if this will affect my plans to start trying for a baby next year.

Hearing the word retroverted uterus sounded scarier than it is, because I’ve known a few people who were told that and still had kids. It’s often just how the uterus sits and doesn’t determine fertility by itself. If you’re not in pain, that’s not a red flag to panic, but your doc will know best.

I remember worrying about it too, and I kept hearing that it doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant. Fertility tends to hinge on hormones, ovulation regularity, and overall health more than the tilt alone. I’d still talk to a clinician if you’re planning to start trying soon.

Have you spoken with a fertility or OB provider yet about what it means for your plans? One person told me there are rare cases where it’s linked to pregnancy issues, but that’s not the norm.

I drifted off topic a bit later, but I ended up focusing on keeping notes. I started tracking cycles and asking questions during visits. It didn’t solve everything, but it helped calm the nagging doubt a little.
