Should I worry about the deep ache during intercourse with a retroverted uterus?
#1
I’ve been told I have a retroverted uterus after my last pelvic exam. My doctor said it’s normal, but I’ve been experiencing a deep, dull ache during intercourse that I never had before. I’m just wondering if others with this same anatomical variation have felt something similar.

I’ve got a retroverted uterus too, and I’ve had a dull ache during sex that wasn’t there before. For me it showed up after a period of long, heavy training and felt deeper than usual. I’ve heard plenty of people with the same anatomy don’t have symptoms, so I didn’t want to read too much into it. Changing positions a bit and going slower helped some nights, but it didn’t fix it entirely.

I went through the usual tests and got told everything looked normal, which was both reassuring and frustrating. I started jotting down when it happened and what else was going on that day. It seemed worse after long days of sitting or when I was very dry. Pelvic floor stuff helped a little, but I can’t say it solved it.

Honestly I keep wondering if the uterus is the real culprit. Could be nerves, could be muscle tension, could be something else entirely. The label feels too tidy for what I’m feeling, and I worry about chasing the wrong cause.

One small thing I tried was pausing deep penetration and testing different rhythms with a partner, and after a couple weeks the pain profile shifted but didn’t disappear. I didn’t get a clear yes or no, and I didn’t push hard on it.
