Should my baby's sleep still be this broken at almost a year?

I see a lot of anime character rankings online, and they always spark interesting discussions. Creating anime character rankings seems like it would be challenging because there are so many factors to consider.

When you think about anime character rankings, what criteria do you use? Is it based on development, design, impact on the story, or personal preference? I'm curious how others approach making their own anime character rankings.

Our little one is almost a year old and his sleep is still so broken. We’ve tried a consistent bedtime routine, but he wakes up crying several times a night and needs to be rocked back down. I’m wondering if this is still considered normal infant sleep or if we should be looking for something else.

That age can be rough and some families ride out a sleep regression for a few weeks. We went through a similar patch last year when teeth were popping through and daytime naps got scrambled. We kept the routine and offered extra comfort at first wakeups, but the nights still stretched out longer than we liked.

Daytime schedule mattered for us more than I expected. If naps drifted or happened late, evenings turned chaotic and wakeups felt bigger. We fiddled with wake windows and tried to push bedtime a touch earlier; not a miracle, but a few calmer nights.

Is the real issue separation anxiety or just normal development? It sometimes feels like something else, but I’m not sure if that’s the whole story.

We did less rocking and more quiet self settling at the end of the routine, and over several nights the baseline seemed steadier, even if there were still bumps.

I keep thinking maybe we are misreading cues, like maybe he needs more calories during the day or a longer nap, and we are chasing the night too hard.

A small change like white noise or a cooler room helped a bit, nothing dramatic but fewer crying spells at sleep time.

If things stay unsettled or he seems tired in the day, a quick check with the pediatrician is worth it; fever, snoring, or not gaining weight are things to mention if you notice them.
