Should VIP access at Comic-Con be worth the extra cost?

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth buying a VIP pass for Comic-Con this year. The main draw for me is the exclusive panel, but I’m worried the extra cost won’t feel justified if the seating still ends up being a scramble or the meet-and-greets are too rushed. Has anyone who upgraded last year felt the special access was genuinely better?

I upgraded last year with the VIP pass, and the exclusive panel did feel worth it. Entry was smoother, there was a small lounge area for holders, and the staff kept the line moving. The meet-and-greets still felt rushed, even with a scheduled slot, but the extra access did cut down some waiting. For me it was worth it, but your mileage may vary.

I did the upgrade too, and I mostly felt it wasn't worth the extra cash. The panel was okay, the conversations felt short, and the autograph queues were still a grind with folks cutting in. The only real perk was a slightly shorter wait, which I could have managed without paying more.

I'm on the fence. The price is steep, and I'm not sure I’d see enough improvement to justify it. I’m weighing how many minutes saved versus how the money would feel when I’m buying food or merch. If this year’s panel is the same as last, I’d lean no. Does that margin even matter this year?

I remember last year the floor chaos bled into the panel a bit, like the room didn’t feel quiet enough. Maybe the real issue isn’t the access but how the day is scheduled. If they tightened doors, maybe the experience would feel calmer even without upgrades.
