What could cause dull right upper abdominal pain and possible gallbladder issue?
#1
I’ve been dealing with this persistent, dull ache in my upper right abdomen for a few months now, and my doctor mentioned it could be related to my gallbladder. I’m just not sure what to make of the symptoms—sometimes it flares up after I eat something fatty, but other times it seems random. Has anyone else navigated this kind of vague discomfort before getting a clear answer?

I’ve had something like that for a few months too. The ache sits in the upper right, especially after meals, but not every time. It was easy to write it off as indigestion, but it persisted.

I thought it might be gallbladder, but an ultrasound and blood work didn’t show stones or obvious inflammation, so they left it as something to watch.

I started tracking meals and symptoms, slow mornings to late evenings, and I did notice a tilt after heavy fried foods, but then it would just appear randomly.

There were days I felt a flare that eased with a couple hours and nothing obvious changed my diet.

Could it be something else entirely, like an ulcer or another stomach issue?

If I were in your shoes, I’d push for imaging or a GI referral, because months is a long time to wait and hope.

Not sure what the next step is, just keep showing up to the doctor and hope for a clearer path, I guess.
