Why do some games feel built from the ground up for Quest 3 immersion?
#1
I just got a Quest 3 and I'm honestly a bit lost trying to figure out what kind of games to even look for. Everything I try feels either like a tech demo or a port of a flat screen game that doesn't really use the medium. How do you find titles that truly feel like they were built from the ground up for this kind of immersion?

I started by skipping anything that feels like a tech demo and looked for games built around VR with room scale and real interaction. Beat Saber and Moss felt like that from the start. The ones that were just ports did not land for me.

I grabbed a couple indie titles that say designed for VR and they clicked more often. One had you reach out to grab things and another made you lean to peek around corners. It was not perfect but the sense of presence stayed after I took the headset off.

Maybe the issue is the library still favors motion capture ports and not enough true VR design. The usual ports tend to feel like a skin over a flat game and I bail out quick. I tried a few ideas that promised immersion and most were forgettable.

Are you chasing a story or just the feeling of being there? I am still weighing what I want from VR presence
