What’s a simple note-taking app that syncs between phone and laptop?

I’ve been trying to find a good, simple note-taking app that actually lets me organize my thoughts without getting in the way, but everything feels either too basic or way too complex. I just want something that syncs reliably between my phone and laptop and handles text well, maybe with some light tagging.

I pulled through Notion Obsidian and Google Keep trying to find something that just works. Notion would sync between phone and laptop sometimes but other times I opened a note and the paragraph was out of sync or the app stalled. Obsidian felt fast and flexible but it is very text focused and I kept building little structures and then forgot to maintain them. Keep was too light for my long notes and the search across a big pile felt clunky

Maybe the problem isnt the app at all maybe I am chasing a perfect workflow that does not exist Am I just hoping a single tool will fix how I think in the moment?

I tried Simplenote because it promised lean speed but after a few days I missed any kind of real structure or label system It is fine for a quick idea but not for organizing thoughts long term

I keep a simple vault with tags It is a compromise between speed and order and I still run into little sync quirks and missing features so I am still looking
