What’s causing micro-stutters after upgrading my GPU?
#1
I just got a new GPU and now my game keeps freezing for a split second every few minutes, especially in demanding areas. It’s not a full crash, but these micro-stutters are driving me crazy and I can’t figure out what’s causing the frame-time spikes.

I swapped my graphics card last year and started noticing these micro-stutters in busy spots. It wasn’t a crash, just a quick pause every few minutes. I actually watched frame times for a while and saw short spikes rather than a steady line.

Which game is it happening in, and have you tried a clean driver reinstall?

I tried disabling hardware-accelerated scheduling in Windows and in the game, plus I turned off overlays. It did smooth things a bit, but the spikes kept creeping back in busy scenes.

I keep thinking maybe it’s the game loading textures or something else, since temps looked fine. I might try capping frame rate to a fixed value just to test, though I hate guessing.
