What’s the best next step after a landing-page smoke test for early access?
#1
I’ve been running a simple smoke test for my service idea, just a landing page with a “Request Early Access” button, and I’m getting a decent click-through rate. But now I’m stuck on what to do next to gauge true intent—should I follow up with a survey, a call, or maybe a fake checkout to see if they’ll enter payment details? I don’t want to mislead people, but I need more than just an email address.

I did a similar test and kept the follow up light we offered a short chat option and it drew a few replies in a week.

Surveys help but they feel slow and people drop off when the ask is long.

Maybe the real issue is the message not the product I thought the problem was interest but it could be clarity.

Fake checkout is risky to my mind it can erode trust more than it reveals true intent.

I tried a quick three question form after the button to qualify what they care about.

One afternoon I chased the wrong metric and forgot that the user value exists.

A short friendly call can be enough to separate curiosity from real need I am not sure.
