What’s the best way to use a motorcycle tire repair kit at highway speeds?

I just got my first flat tire on my motorcycle and realized I have no idea how to properly use the tire repair kit that came under the seat. The little CO2 inflator seems straightforward, but I'm nervous about getting the plug or string sealant to hold correctly at highway speeds.

Used one once. The CO2 inflator was quick, but the plug felt flimsy and I was nervous it would pop at highway speed.

Rode maybe 15 miles to a shop after using it, kept it under 50 mph, and it held long enough to get there.

It's really a temporary fix, more like a stopgap until I could do a proper tire change.

That string sealant thing scared me more than the nail, what if it seals the bead wrong or spins out later.

Do you have roadside assistance or a plan if it fails on the highway?

I wish I had practiced with it in a safe spot so I knew what to expect, instead of guessing.
