What’s this trend called when old animation clips get remixed with filters?

I keep seeing this one specific clip from a 90s cartoon with a weird filter and a glitchy electronic track over it everywhere now. I don't even know the original show, but the edit has this hypnotic, nostalgic vibe that I can't escape my feeds. Is there a name for this wave of repurposing old animation like this?

That wave has a name: vaporwave aesthetics. People mash old cartoons and ads with retro synths and grainy filters to chase a nostalgia loop.

I’ve heard some folks call it hypnagogic pop or glitch art lite, and the appeal seems to be more about texture and memory than the actual show.

I tried making one last year, grabbed a 90s clip, dumped a glitch filter on it and set it to a cold electronic beat. It looked cool for a few hours, then I asked myself what I was even doing.

Are you chasing the name or the exact clip you keep seeing?
