I was looking at some recent Chandra data on supernova remnants and I’m having a hard time reconciling the observed X-ray luminosity with the predicted ejecta mass. The models I’ve checked seem to assume a more uniform distribution of heavy elements than what the spectra are showing. Has anyone else run into this specific problem with **astrophysical plasmas** in remnant analysis?
