What can help sea salt spray and matte paste keep textured hair voluminous?
#1
I’ve been trying to get my hair to hold a textured, piecey look all day, but by mid-afternoon it just falls flat and gets kind of shapeless. I’m using a sea salt spray when it’s damp and a matte paste to try and work it back in, but it never really recovers that initial separation and volume.

I hear you—sea salt spray on damp hair can give you that initial grip, but the texture fades fast and the pieces slump by afternoon.

I tried a matte paste after the spray and it held for a little, then everything got weighed down and went flat. Feels like the hold vanishes mid day.

Humidity and pillow friction bother me as much as the products. I can get a bit of texture after sleeping on a silk pillowcase and letting it air-dry longer, but it's not reliable.

Could the real issue be the length or the cut? Sometimes texture dies once it sits on the shoulders and I find myself chasing it again.
