What can i do about bus and rail schedules not syncing for my commute?
#1
I just moved to a new city and my commute is a mess because the bus and the light rail schedules are completely out of sync. I end up waiting 15 minutes for a connection that should take two, which defeats the whole purpose of taking public transit. Has anyone else dealt with this lack of schedule integration, and did your transit agency ever fix it?

Yeah, moved here last month and my mornings feel like a fault line. I stand for about 15 minutes for a connection that should be seamless, and I end up sprinting between platforms half the time.

A coworker tried leaving 10 minutes early to catch the transfer, but the next leg still ran late and I ended up waiting longer than planned.

I’ve checked the published times and it really looks like two separate schedules that don’t line up. It kind of feels intentional, like no one owns the handoffs.

I asked the city transit line about it and they gave a generic note about improving headways. Months passed and there was no concrete fix.

Some days I actually catch both by luck and it saves me a few minutes; most days I end up with that 15 minute gap anyway.

Last week a parade blocked the main transfer street and I walked several blocks. It reminded me how fragile the timing is, and how that single event can wreck an otherwise tight schedule.

In my city they did add timed transfers at a couple hubs and some folks swear it helped, though it's not universal and the changes were slow to arrive.
