What can I do to break through a personal growth plateau?

I’m really struggling with feeling like I’m not making any progress in my life, even though I’m putting in the effort. Every time I try to move forward with a personal goal, it’s like I hit an invisible wall and end up right back where I started.

I hear that. I’ve been there after months of effort on something personal and feeling all the way back to square one the moment I hit a snag.

I even tried a calendar sprint marking days and tiny steps, but when nothing changed I paused, slept, and went back to the drawing board without applause.

Maybe the issue isn’t just accountability but how we’re defining progress. I started naming tiny wins that weren’t flashy—getting out of bed earlier, sending a message, finishing a page—and that helped, or at least it didn’t make it worse.

I once got stuck on one thing and wandered into sorting my desk and kitchen stuff for a while. It reduced the noise, and then the real question hit me: is the wall the problem, or is the goal just draining the energy around it?
