What can i do to remove cached social media results tied to my name online?
#1
I’ve been trying to clean up my old social media accounts and I’m shocked by how many third-party sites have my profile data cached. Even after deleting an account years ago, a search of my name still brings up these archived pages. Is there any real way to get this removed, or is it just permanently part of my digital footprint now?

I did a clean-up a while back. Deleted a few old profiles, but months later I still found archived copies on third party sites. Some listings disappeared after I pinged them; others stayed, showing old bios and links. It felt like chasing ghosts, and it made the whole effort feel half done.

I contacted data brokers and asked for removal, and one actually took my name down after a long email exchange. But a bunch of mirrors kept showing up, sometimes with outdated screenshots. It’s like removing a photo from a wall where a few frames keep getting printed again.

I keep hearing about the right to be forgotten in some places, but it’s not universal and it moves slowly. I tried a couple of removal requests with mixed luck. Some sites asked for identity proof; others ignored the requests. It’s disheartening and feels random.

Maybe the bigger issue isn’t the old accounts at all but the mental footprint we leave. Even if you scrub, the data finds other corners of the web. It’s a messy problem, and I’m not sure the goal is fully reachable. The digital footprint thing keeps nagging me.
