What can i do to stop delaying things that would make me happier?

I’ve realized I’m constantly putting off things that would genuinely make me happier, like calling an old friend or starting a hobby I know I’d enjoy. I tell myself I’ll do it when I’m less tired or have more time, but that time never comes. Does anyone else get stuck in this cycle of delaying your own well-being?

Yep, I get stuck there too. I always tell myself I’ll call an old friend when I’m less tired, and somehow that time never shows up. I did try one tiny step: text them first, then scheduled a 5 minute call for Saturday. It felt awkward, but it happened once, which surprised me.

Some days I just curl into the couch and tell myself I’ll start tomorrow. I did set a 15 minute hobby window, but I spent it scrolling and ended up feeling lazy and a little empty.

Could it be the real problem isn’t energy but fear of how good it could feel if you actually followed through?

I’ve tried blaming fatigue for weeks, yet the cycle persists. I guess you notice small wins when they happen, but they fade fast.
