What can I do to stop our grocery bill from continually rising?

We’ve been trying to stick to our budget, but our grocery bill just keeps climbing every single week. I’m starting to wonder if we’re just buying the wrong things or if this is the new normal for everyone.

We started logging every receipt on Sundays and comparing totals to last month. Even when we squeeze a few deals, the weekly number still climbs. We switched to store brands for staples like pasta and canned tomatoes, and that helped a little, but the total keeps creeping up.

I notice the cart looks bigger when I m tired. More impulse buys, more snacky stuff, and suddenly the groceries cost more even if the unit prices aren’t crazy.

Maybe it isn’t just prices or what we buy. Portions feel bigger, the kids seem hungrier, or we’re grabbing more meals out of convenience. I keep wondering if the real issue is something else and we’re chasing the wrong problem.

We tried bulk items and meal planning, but the bulk shelf stuff went unused or spoiled, and I dumped a bunch of leftovers. Not sure if it saved money in the end.
