What can i do to stop snoozing and stick to a 5:30 am morning routine?

I've been trying to get up at 5:30 AM for weeks, but I just keep hitting snooze. My intention is to use that quiet hour for focused work before the house wakes up, but my body seems to have a different plan. I'm not sure if I'm just not a morning person or if my evening routine is sabotaging me.

I hear you. I chased 5:30 for months and kept hitting snooze too. I tried moving the alarm to the far side of the room and even added a second alarm that forces me to get up and walk a bit to turn it off. It bought me a few days of momentum, then old habits crept back in.

From my side, maybe the issue isn’t willpower but sleep quality. I kept a rough log and realized some nights I wasn’t actually getting deep sleep, so waking felt brutal. I experimented with cutting coffee after noon and an earlier bed by 15 minutes; it helped a little, but not a magic fix.

I tried using that quiet hour for focus and felt like I was sprinting uphill. I ended up starting with something tiny like a glass of water and a 5 minute stretch, then easing into the day. The difference wasn’t dramatic, but it felt less doomed.

Do you think the real problem is the morning hour itself or the night before? I kept blaming myself, but maybe the sleep window or caffeine timing is off. I kept a messy diary for a couple weeks and it didn’t settle on a clear pattern.
