What can i do to turn my two-week morning routine burst into a steady habit?

I’ve been trying to build a consistent morning routine for months now, but I keep hitting a wall after about two weeks. My initial burst of motivation fades, and I slip back into just rushing through my morning. Has anyone else managed to make that shift from a temporary sprint to a true lifestyle change?

I tried the same thing and rode the crest for about two weeks before life threw a curveball. I kept it simple at first, a glass of water and a quick stretch, and told myself the rest could wait if the day got wild.

I started logging which mornings actually felt smoother and which ones didn’t, and the only pattern I could pin down was sleep quality. When I slept a bit earlier for a week, mornings eased up, even if I skipped later steps.

Honestly I still hesitate to call it a lifestyle change, because I keep reverting when the week gets busy. It’s not flashy, but some days I just show up and do the bare minimum, and that stubborn inconsistency wears me out.

Could the real wall be the story you tell yourself about mornings rather than the routine itself?
