What causes map stutter after a patch and how can I fix it?

I’m trying to play the new update, but my game keeps freezing for a solid two or three seconds every time I open the in-game map. It’s completely fine until I hit that button, and then it just hitches. Has anyone else run into this specific stutter? I’m not sure if it’s something on my end or if it’s the patch.

Yeah, I hit that same stutter right when the map opens after the update. It freezes for a couple of seconds and then catches up.

I tried a fresh start, no mods, and closed background apps, and the hitch was a bit less harsh but still there.

Could be the patch loading a bunch of assets on demand; I noticed it mostly when the map flips to a dense area.
