What clans fit a flexible practice schedule without turning it into a second job?

I’ve been trying to get into a decent clan for a while, but every time I find one that’s active and skilled, they require a strict schedule of mandatory practice nights. My work shifts rotate, so I can’t commit to the same evening every week. Has anyone else managed to find a solid group that’s competitive but doesn’t treat it like a second job?

I found a group a while back that was competitive but not all about the clock. We used a rotating schedule that let people swap nights, and there was a small core that kept the pace steady. If you couldn't make a practice, you could ping the chat and someone would run a quick scrim with whoever was free. It wasn’t spotless—sometimes you’d still fall behind if you missed a couple weeks—but the vibe was less like a job and more like a team you could actually schedule around real life. We won some decent ladders and even did a couple tournaments without everyone burning out. It felt possible to stay sharp and still have a life.

Same here. I chased a team that demanded two fixed nights and I just couldn’t do it with rotating shifts. After two weeks I had to bail. It sucked, but I learned the hard way that rigidity kills momentum for people who aren’t free every week.

Another approach that almost worked was a semi casual squad that treated practice like a gym pass you could pop in when you had time. We never had a strict cadence, just a text thread for last minute scrims. It didn’t always line up, but when it did, the games clicked and you felt competitive without the guilt of missing a night that’s carved in stone.

Do you think the real issue is the schedule or the vibe?
