What could be causing a persistent globus sensation despite a normal throat?
#1
I’ve had this persistent feeling of something stuck in my throat for over a month now, but my doctor says my throat looks completely normal. It’s not painful, just this constant, annoying sensation that makes me want to clear my throat all the time, especially after I eat. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of unexplained globus sensation?

I’ve had something like that too. Not painful, just a persistent lumpy feeling and I find myself clearing my throat after meals. Tests were normal, so I started keeping a simple log: what I ate, when it showed up, and what seemed to help. A few tweaks helped a bit—not lying down after eating, sipping water, and dialing back late snacks—but it didn’t disappear.

For me it showed up most after dairy and when the air was dry. I tried sipping water through the meal and chewing more slowly; I felt a tiny improvement for a couple of days.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s real or just a heightened sensitivity we notice because we’re paying attention to our throats. Still, the sensation is there enough to make me clear my throat dozens of times a day.

I even wandered into the allergy reflux territory in my head. A friend suggested maybe reflux, another said allergies. I don’t know which is right, but I did notice it got worse in certain seasons and with certain foods. Not sure what to chase next.
